You will be familiarised with the essential concepts of network security. This includes an understanding of security issues and familiarisation with security mechanisms such as signatures, certificates and encryption algorithms. In addition, you will gain knowledge of the basic functions of network security tools such as firewalls and IDS as well as an understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Das Wahlmodul Maschinelles Lernen beschäftigt sich mit den grundlegenden Konzepten des Data Minings, des maschinellen Lernens und der explorativen Datenanalyse. Du bekommst ein Verständnis für die zugrunde liegenden Algorithmen und lernst wichtige Verfahren zur automatischen Vorverarbeitung und Analyse strukturierter Daten kennen. Darüber hinaus wirst du mit verschiedenen Methoden und Metriken zur Validierung von maschinell erlerntem Wissen oder Modellen vertraut gemacht. Zusätzlich erlernst du Kenntnisse über Software-Tools für das maschinelle Lernen anhand konkreter Beispiele.
You will receive a comprehensive overview of social and economic megatrends as well as a detailed look at the megatrend of digitalisation. The focus will be on the impact of digitalisation on the real estate industry, the overall impact on the sector and, in particular, specific changes in the business models of the office, retail and residential property sectors. In addition, you will learn skills such as holistic and networked thinking, coping with complexity, as well as teamwork, lecture and presentation techniques.
In this module, you will develop your own business ideas and found your own start-up in group work. At the end of the course, you will pitch your business idea to entrepreneurs and potential investors. Motivated teams can expect support for their company beyond the course.
The course is taught in English.
Part-time
We offer you the opportunity to study the Master's programme in Industrial Engineering – Digital Economy on a part-time basis, provided that the relevant requirements are met – we will be happy to advise you.

Application / Admission
The three-semester degree programme (standard period of study) can be started in both the summer and winter semesters. Part-time study is possible for those in employment. The on-campus programme is then extended to three years. Click here to go directly to the application form!
Admission requirements are:
Completion of an interdisciplinary business administration/engineering degree programme with at least 210 credit points (CP)
Access is granted to:
- at least 45 credit points (CP) in the field of "Engineering, Natural Sciences and Mathematics" and
- at least 45 credit points (CP) in the field of "Economics, Law and other Social Sciences" and
- at least 5 credits (CP) in the field of project management and soft skills and
- at least 8 credits in the modules Technical or Business English or in English-language modules with the first professionally qualifying degree
In addition, graduates of a purely business or purely technical degree programme in which the above-mentioned minimum credit points (CP) were not achieved by a maximum of 30 CP can also apply. They have the opportunity to provide evidence of missing areas and content by successfully completing the relevant modules in a transitional semester.
