Study structure
You can specialise in a subject area from the 3rd semester onwards and thus design your studies individually according to your ideas.
Specialisation
From the 3rd semester onwards, you can customise your studies. Here you have the opportunity to specialise in a specialisation
.
Specialisations
Electronic systems can be found everywhere. They are made up of sensors, semiconductors and other components, but also digital elements such as processors and microcontrollers. They can be found in simple devices such as washing machines and remote controls or in more complex systems such as computers, smartphones or in large industrial systems. In the Electronic Systems specialisation, you will learn how to design these systems and how to process, store and transmit electrical signals.
Automation and computer science addresses the areas of control systems, regulation and software. Production systems must be automated and manufacturing processes must be optimally controlled and regulated. This means less effort, fewer errors and more productivity. Modern requirements such as cyber security for distributed and networked systems play a major role today. In this specialisation, you will learn how all of this has to be implemented and designed today.
Internship
As an engineer in electrical engineering and information technology, it is important to prepare yourself for a technical working environment. With us, you have the opportunity to gain important practical experience during your studies. This not only pays off for your
future career, but also makes it easier for you to enter professional life. The practical semester is the perfect complement to the numerous laboratory courses at the West Coast UAS.
The degree programme suits you if
- You are interested in technical innovations and issues
- You like to apply theoretical knowledge immediately in practice
- You can work independently and are not a stranger to initiative
- You can assert yourself even in turbulent phases
- You are a real team player who attaches great importance to good communication
By the way: The Bachelor's degree programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology includes a compulsory internship of at least 20 weeks to develop your professional skills and give you the opportunity to prepare yourself optimally for the demands of the job market. The semester can be completed in a company or at a partner university.
