We do research - far more than is typical.
Research is very important to us - far more so than is typical for a university of applied sciences. With the German Institute for Tourism Research (DI) and the Institute for the Transformation of the Energy System (ITE), we have two research institutes at our university that are important for the whole of Germany.
In addition to the work of the institutes, we are pursuing a whole series of super exciting projects: Sea rescue with drones, robots that can autonomously weed fields, ways of supplying buildings exclusively with renewable energy and making them smarter, or possible applications for digitalisation and artificial intelligence in companies - you can find all this and much more at the West Coast UAS. We even have a professor who specialises in futurology. Sounds exciting? It is, especially because you as future students can be right up close to it.
