Sustainability

Sustainability plays a central role in our thinking and actions at FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences. And that applies to all areas:

All of our degree programs include modules and courses on the topic of sustainability. Our research focuses on sustainable development and, unlike at universities, our research work always has a direct practical relevance, meaning it can be applied immediately.

A dedicated Senate Committee for Sustainability ensures that the university will continue to work consistently toward this goal in the coming years and that we will, for example, make our campus operations even more sustainable. With our own energy park, equipped with a wind turbine, solar field, heat pump, and seasonal hydrogen storage, we even have a blueprint for climate-neutral building supply on campus.

And to give the topic even more importance, we currently have two professorships on the topics of sustainability management and circular economy.
