Legal Clinic
From the fifth semester onwards, as a member of the Legal Clinic, you may provide legal advice within the university under supervision.

Study structure
The special thing about your Business Law degree programme: From the 3rd semester onwards, you can design your studies entirely according to your interests and professional goals.
Practical and up-to-date: We focus on topics such as sustainability, digitalisation and entrepreneurship. You will deal with forward-looking areas such as sustainability law, legal tech and new work in labour law practice.
Specialisation
From the third semester onwards, you will choose one of our three specialisations (Labour Law & New Work, Compliance or Tax). Our specialisations include legal and business modules, of which you choose four each.

Specialisation
In this specialisation, you will face the challenges of HR work, from recruitment with the hiring process, to personnel development, in which you promote the potential of your employees, to staff dismissal, which involves the selection and handling of termination processes. In order to be optimally positioned for the dynamic and agile world of work, we will show you, among other things, new work (time) concepts, psychological influences and the current legal situation.

In the Compliance specialisation, you will be confronted with a wide variety of (legal) questions about how the company or institution can present itself in a legally compliant manner. This is not only about legally compliant conduct towards the outside world, customers or competitors, but also about a uniform appearance within the organisation itself. This can affect HR processes, but also marketing or tax matters. As a compliance officer, you usually work directly with the management team, independently of other business areas, as you scrutinise their actions.

Various opportunities in the practical semester:
As a business law graduate, you can organise your internship semester according to your interests - either in the legal field (e.g. law firms, tax consultancies, corporate law departments) or in the business field (e.g. auditing, HR management, controlling). Or you can choose an interface area in which business and law merge. You will soon realise: With your dual qualification, you are ideally prepared for professional practice.
And if you're looking for international flair, you can also complete your internship semester abroad. The degree programme and the International Office will support you with this.
Part-time option
We also offer you the opportunity to study Business Law part-time, provided you fulfil the relevant requirements - we will be happy to advise you. To gain an insight into the structure of the part-time study programme, you can take a look at our corresponding part-time study plan.
Information about the application
You can apply from 30 April of each year for the winter semester for the first subject-related semester.
You also have the option of applying for a higher semester if you change degree programmes. This is possible for the summer and winter semesters. We will be happy to advise you.
